Island yacht race 28th June
:- This is the worlds largest yacht race with around 1700
yachts participating. The race starts at the Royal Yacht Squadron starting line
at Cowes and follows a 50 nautical miles course anti clockwise around the Isle
of Wight. Carisbrooke Castle, once the prison of King Charles 1. They also do Jousting well worth a visit.
Osborne House near Cowes was Queen Victoria’s island retreat and featured in the film ‘Mrs. Brown’.
Godshill includes the famous Model Village, a Natural History Centre, the Nostalgia Toy Museum , the Old Smithy and great Cream Teas.
Isle of Wight Steam Railway. 5 miles of nostalgia as you ride through the countryside on this old branch line.
Fort Victoria Country Park contains a marine aquarium, a maritime heritage museum, a planetarium and a model railway. Plus stunning views of the Solent.
Isle of Wight Pearl. The largest collection of Pearls under one roof.
